Message from Bishop Patrick
A Message from our Bishop, Right Reverend Patrick Tugume Tusingwire
My brothers and sisters in Christ, I greet you well from North Kigezi and from my loving wife Maama Eva.
As we settle into our new home and I humbly accept the honour of becoming your fourth Bishop of this great Diocese of ours we send you our love and blessings wherever in the world you may be at this time.
It is only a few months since my consecration and I hope many of you were able to attend this great occasion which was blessed by the presence of our President Museveni and his Grace, Archbishop Henry Luke Orombi.
It was a truly wonderful day and one that Maama Eva and our entire family will never forget.
The focus of my ministry will be” the feet of those who bring good news” Isaiah 52.7 who have traversed the hills of this land and I want to identify myself with them in the ministries of Evangelism and Reconciliation as indeed the good news that we refer to is that of peace and salvation and that God reigns.
Praise be to God for that.
The work and challenges that lie ahead my dears are formidable as we enter the period of Diocesan meetings for Planning, finance, Ordinations and Diocesan Council running up to Christmas so I covet your prayers as we move through choppy seas to reach the land on the other side.
I want through the pages of FNKD to somehow reach out to all our Ugandan friends throughout the world and our western brothers and sisters who have supported our Diocese for many a year past and to let you know what is happening back here in North Kigezi, so that we will have an inclusive ministry of all who want to join us in our service of our Lord Jesus Christ.
For the greatest element of our Diocese is REVIVAL as we accepted Jesus to be our saviour and walk in the light of the risen Lord.
This means that in all we do in His name we need to operate in a transparent and humble way accepting full accountability for our actions, words and deeds and this will be a thread that will be woven into the fabric of our Diocese and remain steadfast in our Ministry..
Challenges therefore will be many as we move along and we must walk purposefully as we engage with all of you and instil confidence in our actions for the greater glory of God.
In this we will walk together in cooperation and partnership with our old and new friends as we build our Diocese to better reach out and serve our Christians.
I encourage you all to join with us in our endeavours and walk with us as brothers and sisters in Christ.
It is my prayer to communicate with you on a regular basis and encourage you to communicate either directly or through Reverend Canon Ken as he heads our ministry in areas outside of Uganda.
With love,
Bishop Patrick
